Show Up Anytime and Bet the "Come" Bet
The come bet is essentially your own private pass line bet. Regardless of what the shooter is doing, you can place a come bet and the next roll becomes your private point. You are not in anyway bound by the shooter's point.
How the Come Bet Works
In real money craps, the object is to roll the "point". The point is set on the first roll. Whatever number the two dice add up to is the point (except a 2, 3, 7, 11, or 12). The shooter now continues rolling until either the point comes up again, and he or she wins - or a seven come up and the shooter loses. After the shooter sets a point and starts rolling to try and hit that point again before a seven comes up, you can place a come bet. What that means is that the next roll functions as your own private come out roll. If a seven is rolled, you win. If a point is set, then you will win if that point is rolled again, and lose if a seven is rolled.
An Example of a Come Bet
Let's say the shooter rolls an eight on the first roll. This is now the point for everyone who bet on the pass line. The shooter keeps rolling until either a seven or an eight comes up. If an eight comes up, everyone with bets on pass wins. If a seven comes up, everyone loses. In our example, neither a seven nor an eight has come up after three rolls. You now place a come bet. On the next roll, the shooter rolls a nine. This is now your point. So the shooter will continue rolling until either an eight comes up (in which case everyone with a bet on pass wins and your bet remains on the table), or a nine is rolled (you win even money, but the rest of the table keep playing), or a seven is rolled (everyone loses).
Lucky Seven/Eleven with a Come Bet
Now here is another example. The point is again an eight. After a few rolls you place a come bet. This time, the next roll is a seven. Everyone who had a bet on the pass line loses, but you actually win. Remember, placing a come bet means that for you, the game has just started. All the other rules remain the same.
